entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places.
A landmark is the Pendleton Farmers Society Hall, built in 1828
by a society begun in 1815. More than fifty buildings pre-date
1850, and there is a self-guided walking tour and a cassette
tape tour. |

white clapboard church was built in 1822. A Jardine pipe organ
has filled the church with music since 1848, and the churchyard
